You can reach the city by taxi, by bus or by car. Detailed information about the airport procedures and arrival \/ departure arrangements can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zagreb-airport.hr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zagreb Airport website<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>By taxi<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The taxi stands for arriving passengers are available at the Passenger Terminal, near the Ground Floor, and at the Arrivals level of the Terminal, with the following maximum prices:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start price with VAT: 2,60\u20ac&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Price per km with VAT: 1,75\u20ac&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airport \u2013 City Center (16 km): 33,50\u20ac&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airport \u2013 Hotel International (15 km): 30\u20ac&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from cash, taxi service providers accept various types of payments, such as credit cards and online payment systems: Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Elektron, Diners, American Express, UnionPay, V Pay, JCB, Bancontact, iDeal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and iCard.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notice:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not all taxi vehicles accept Diners or American Express. There are also unofficial taxi services that charge much more than stated above. <em>So, we kindly advise you to ask the driver about fare prices and available payment options before accepting the ride.<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>By bus<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pleso Prijevoz operates a regular shuttle bus service between Zagreb Airport and Zagreb Central Bus Station. Pleso Prijevoz also operates a shuttle bus service between Zagreb Airport and Rijeka. More information about the services can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/plesoprijevoz.hr\/en\/start\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pleso Prijevoz\u2019s website<\/a>. The price for a one-way fare from the Airport to the Central Bus Station is 8\u20ac. The ride lasts about 35-40 minutes\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>By rent-a-car:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Rent-a-car service is available for all passengers:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Premium location East &#8211; SIXT rent-a-car \/ FLIZZR\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Premium location West &#8211; OK MOBILITY&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Various rent-a-car counters are available at the airport.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ACCOMMODATION\">2. <strong>ACCOMMODATION<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zagreb is a popular tourist destination, especially during the summer period, so we recommend booking accommodation as soon as possible.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hotel International<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A four-star hotel located very close to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences where the symposium takes place. More information on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maistra.com\/properties\/hotel-international\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their website<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hotel Central<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A three-star hotel is in the city center, next to the main railway station. It is within walking distance of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and it is near the historical city center. <a href=\"https:\/\/hotel-central.hr\/en\/home-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Website<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hotel Laguna<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A three-star hotel located in the lovely district of Tre\u0161njevka. It is within walking distance of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, but public transport is recommended to visit the city center. It is a comfortable and more budget-friendly option. <a href=\"https:\/\/hotel-laguna.hr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Website<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dots Hostel<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A cozy hostel that offers single and twin rooms with private or shared bathrooms for more affordable prices. It is in the city center, within walking distance of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. <a href=\"https:\/\/dotshostelzagreb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Website<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Garden Hotel<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Located in Vodnikova Street in Zagreb\u2019s center, Garden Hotel offers a coffee bar with a terrace, free Wi-Fi and modernly furnished rooms. The location is close to the city center, and within walking distance of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gardenhotel.hr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Website<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hotel Zonar<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Located in the district of Tre\u0161njevka, the four-star hotel is around 2km away from the symposium venue, but it offers 299 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, a deli, a swimming pool on the rooftop and a gym. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maistra.com\/properties\/zonar-zagreb\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Website<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Art Hotel Like<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A three-star hotel offers a more affordable option in the center of Zagreb, only a few minutes from the main square but 2km from the symposium venue. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arthotellike.hr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Website<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"CONFERENCE-VENUE\">3. <strong>SYMPOSIUM VENUE<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The symposium is hosted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest higher education institution in Croatia which carries out research activities and teaches university programs in the field of humanities and social sciences, as well as a significant cultural institution with a great impact on Croatian culture and society. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is part of the University of Zagreb, the oldest university in Croatia and one of the oldest universities in Europe. For detailed directions, use the map above.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tram lines<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The faculty building is also accessible via tram lines 3, 5 and 13.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travelling in either direction, get off at the Sveu\u010dili\u0161na aleja station and walk south down Ivana Lu\u010di\u0107a Street. Please note, Line 3 does not operate on weekends. Tram tickets are sold by tram drivers and newsagents. Validating machines are located at the front and back of each car.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Taxi services<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three taxi companies in Zagreb. Using taxi services in downtown Zagreb is relatively inexpensive. Airport fares differ between the companies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taxi Cammeo: call 1212&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Radio Taxi Zagreb: call 1717&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eko Taxi: call 1414&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uber and Bolt are also available and usually more affordable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"EAT\">4. <strong>WHERE TO EAT<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several decent places to eat very near to the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">WALKING DISTANCE AROUND 5 MINUTES&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pri zvoncu<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A proper, mid-range priced restaurant with good, traditional food. It offers domestic dishes, mostly meat-based, but it is also vegetarian friendly and has gluten free options. The outdoor terrace is very nice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pedro Pite<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Not a fancy option, but this is a fine choice for a quick meal. The place is famous for its pies (\u201cpite\u201d), but it also offers other lunch and brunch dishes. The vegetarian options are often limited to pies, unfortunately. Pie prices are between 5 and 10 euros, main course prices are between 10 and 15 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fakin Craft Bar<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Proud of its wide array of craft beers, the place also offers lunch and snacks for relatively low prices. The vegetarian options are also limited. Beware of the house beer, it is stronger than it seems. Main course prices are between 9 and 15 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lobby Food&amp;Mood<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Business lunch restaurant serving local food, some vegetarian options, longer wait time between 12h and 15h, prices for daily lunches are between 8 and 12 euros, for a la carte menu between 20 and 30 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Vege Fino Za Sve<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Fast food restaurant serving vegetarian and gluten-free food, no wait time, prices are between 6 and 10 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>StreetFood DB<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Fast food restaurant serving burgers, sandwiches and stir fry, some vegetarian options, short wait time, prices are between 8 and 15 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">WALKING DISTANCE AROUND 10 MINUTES&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Simple Green &amp; Bake Jelena<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Vegan restaurant and gluten free bakery. The ingredients come from family-owned farms. It offers fresh restaurant meals, as well as pastries, breads and cookies. Prices are between 7 and 10 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Luca\u2019s Pizza &amp; Pasta<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Small restaurant serving Italian food and pizza, some vegetarian options, longer wait time between 12h and 15h, prices are between 10 and 20 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Restoran Padre<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Casual restaurant serving local and Mediterranean food, some vegetarian options, longer wait time between 12 and 15, prices for a la carte menu between 13 and 34 euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"TIPS\">5. <strong>GENERAL TIPS<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zagreb is considered a very safe city, especially the city center.
